PETALING JAYA: Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal (pic) voices remorse for posting tweets that were critical of PAS and apologised to the Islamist party that is also part of the Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal said that he would exercise more caution with his social media posts in the future.
“Firstly, I would like to apologise to all members of PAS for using inappropriate words,” he said in a Facebook post Friday (Nov 4).
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal further stated that PAS' participation in Perikatan demonstrated the party's commitment to creating a caring, clean, and stable government.
“I will continue to fight alongside PN and PAS for fairness and equality for all Kelantanese and Malaysians in accordance with Islamic teachings,” his post read.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal recently received backlash after social media users discovered some of his old tweets criticising PAS.
This happened after Perikatan announced that he would be contesting the Machang parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election (GE15).
PAS had also recently announced that it would be sticking with Perikatan in GE15.
Perikatan candidates in Kelantan will use the PAS logo for the polls.
Wan Ahmad Fayhsal had previously shown his support for PAS, saying the Islamist party had improved, and said both Bersatu and PAS complemented each other in Perikatan.
