GEORGE TOWN: There is talk that former Jelutong MP Jeff Ooi (pic) could make a return to the constituency he last won in 2013.
Social media was abuzz after he uploaded a picture of him wearing a "I Love Jelutong" T-shirt on his Facebook page.
The Penang Warisan chairman is surrounded by four party members in the picture.
"I have half a dozen of these T-shirts from my days in Jelutong," he said when asked about the picture.
"I wore it for breakfast before the meeting that morning as I was afraid of staining my Warisan corporate shirt.
"After the meet, I put the T-shirt back on and that was when the photo was taken," he said on Tuesday (Oct 25).
Acknowledging that Jelutong was among the key seats in Penang, Ooi said Warisan's strategy goes beyond a single seat.
Ooi was Jelutong MP from 2008 to 2018 under DAP.
On the candidates and seats to be contested by Warisan in Penang, Ooi said it would be announced by Warisan president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal in November.
