Mechamato Robot Battle now available on Roblox

KUALA LUMPUR: A local animation studio has announced the launch of a new immersive game experience on the metaverse mega-platform Roblox.

Called Mechamato Robot Battle, it is an online gaming space where fans and players can explore the vast open world of Kota Hilir, as seen on Mechamato: The Animated Series.

Monsta chief operating officer Kee Yong Pin said after the release of the animated series yesterday that the company is committed to diving into the metaverse space, launching the game on Roblox to serve millions of fans and new audiences from across the globe.

“Roblox is one of the largest and fastest growing platforms in the metaverse. We are aware that kids nowadays are spending loads of time there.

“We want to create a new and immersive experience that will excite them, especially for those who’ve enjoyed Mechamato: The Animated Series,” he said in a statement, Bernama reported.

Roblox is an online game platform with over 164 million monthly active users as at August 2020.

Mechamato focuses on a boy named Amato and his partner robot MechaBot, who fights against bad robots. In the game, the peaceful (fictional) town of Kota Hilir is being terrorised by bad robots.

The Mechamato Robot Battle space will see players embarking on an open world experience, including a virtual store of merchandise that will allow them to customise their avatars and equip themselves with “mechanised” items.

Players will also get to battle and capture bad robots as seen in the series.
