Three points for Slytherin: Johor Bomba has third python encounter in a week


JOHOR BARU: The Johor Fire and Rescue Department has recorded its third python encounter in less than a week, this time with a snake found in a cat's cage at Taman Damai Daya in Skudai.

Skudai Fire and Rescue Station operation chief Faisal Ismail said a homeowner notified the department of the discovery at 7.04am on Monday (Oct 3).

Nine firemen were immediately deployed to the scene, he added.

“At the location, we found the 1.5m python resting inside the cage.

“We used a snake hook to capture the animal before releasing it far away from any residential area,” he said, adding that the operation ended at 7.25am.

For the record, the family cat is fine, as it was not in the cage when the python slithered in.

On Saturday (Oct 1), firemen pulled a 1.8m python out of a washing machine at a self-service launderette in Taman Impian Emas here.

On Wednesday (Sept 28), they captured a 6m python after it swallowed an adult female goat at Felda Inas in Kulai.
