Woman in KK hurt by falling concrete slab


KOTA KINABALU: A woman was seriously injured by a falling concrete slab in Jalan Sembulan here on Tuesday (Sept 27) morning.

It is learnt that the victim, an Indonesian, was working on the ground level of a shop at about 10am when the slab from the above floor fell on her.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Misran Bisara said the victim had been identified as Nurmiati Doti, 55.

“The victim was given preliminary treatment by medical officials at the scene and taken to the hospital for further treatment,” he said in a statement.

Misran said firemen inspected the area and made sure there were no other hazardous elements before wrapping up the operation at 10.40am.
