Floodwater rose to knee level in less than an hour, says victim


BATU PAHAT: A heavy morning downpour in Kampung Seri Bengkal, Parit Ya’ani near here on Sunday (Sept 25) caused water levels to rise rapidly past the knee level in just less than an hour, resulting in 22 houses being inundated.

According to resident Manisah Sariman, 66, it started raining heavily at about 4am. She and her two children as well as a grandchild were fast asleep.
