More bone fragments found at quarry rockfall site, says Perak Bomba


IPOH: Several bone fragments, believed to be that of the second victim of the rockfall incident at a quarry in Keramat Pulai in March this year, have been found.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Muhamad Shahrizal Aris said the fragments were found at about 2.45pm on Wednesday (Sept 21).

He said the fragments were found near the second excavator on Tuesday (Sept 20) evening.

"We could only retrieve a few pieces. We will continue searching for more remains tomorrow," he said, adding that the search and rescue operation started at 8am.

It was reported that the search and rescue operation on Tuesday had found two excavators that were buried in the March 8 incident.

The skeletal remains and clothes of one of the two victims were also found on Tuesday.

In the incident, two quarry workers, identified as Itam Lasoh, 43, and Kheow Loo Siew Soon, 49, were buried under a pile of rocks.
