Skeletal remains of quarry rockfall victim found, says Perak Bomba


IPOH: The skeletal remains of a victim who was buried under the rubble of a quarry rockfall in Keramat Pulai in March has been found.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department director Azmi Osman said the remains were found on Tuesday (Sept 20) morning after a six-month search and rescue operation.

He said an excavator, followed by clothes, and the skeletal remains were discovered between 11.45am and noon today.

“The excavator was discovered between a depth of 10 and 15 feet.

“We are conducting a search around the area concerned to locate the other victim as well,” he said.

He said the remains have been handed over to the relevant parties for the next cause of action.

He added that the identity of the victim has yet to be revealed.

In March 8 during the 9.15am incident two victims, Kheow Loo Siew Soon, 49, and Itam Lasoh, 43 were buried under the rubble, while two more victims, Mohd Razli Suhaimi, 35, suffered a broken leg while Pan Tam, 38, sustained light injuries.
