MELAKA: The historic site where Tunku Abdul Rahman first announced the date of the country’s independence will come alive in a blaze of colour and splendour as the Malaysia Day celebrations are held there for the first time today.

More than 20,000 people, both from within and outside Melaka, are expected to gather in the historical city to hear Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob deliver his 59th Malaysia Day message this evening.
