Damaged water treatment plant source of water disruption at Machang Hospital

KOTA BARU: Water supply disruption at the Machang Hospital on Monday and Tuesday (Sept 5 & 6) was caused by damages to the Sungai Bagan Machang Water Treatment Plant (LRA) in Sungai Bagan, Machang.

Kelantan State Health Department (JKNK) director Datuk Dr Zaini Hussin said the damage at the LRA caused disruption to water supply to the hospital, especially the main tank.

Following the disruption, Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd (AKSB) quickly sent water supply to the Machang Hospital's main water storage tank.

"Water supply has been restored Tuesday (Sept 6) evening in stages and the level of water turbidity is improving," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Sept 7).

Dr Zaini also said the services and patient management at the hospital were not affected by the disruption.

"JKNK expresses regret over the inconvenience faced and thank you for the quick action taken by Machang Hospital, Radicare and AKSB to overcome the disruption,” he added. - Bernama
