Police confirm receiving report on leaked document proposed for Najib’s corruption trial


PETALING JAYA: Police have confirmed receiving a report on a purportedly leaked judgment for Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s SRC International corruption trial at the Federal Court.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Azmi Abu Kassim said the report was being investigated and advised the public not to speculate on the issue or spread unverified news which is against the law, Sinar Harian quoted him as saying on Wednesday (Aug 24).

On Tuesday the Federal Court Registrar's Office had said an internal probe had been launched on a leaked judgment purportedly to be on Najib's SRS International Corruption trial.

A police report had also been lodged on the matter, it said in a statement.

This came in response to a 15-page document that was said to have been uploaded by an online news portal on Tuesday (Aug 23) which went viral following Najib's trial at the Federal Court.

It added that the document which went viral was also a draft and was modified and the actual judgment was only handed out at 4pm on Tuesday.

Umno youth said it will also lodge a police report on the matter so investigations can be carried out immediately.
