POPULAR cartoonist Mishar, otherwise known as Mior Shariman Mior Hadan, passed away at the age of 75 due to Covid-19, Kosmo! reported.

Mishar was one of the founders of Gila-Gila magazine, which was popular in the 1980s.

He reportedly fell ill after a stroke.

Mishar’s creative touch revolutionised the cartoon and comic industry for over three decades, earning him the Cartoon Artist Award in 2012.

His demise was shared on the Malaysia Cartoon and Comic House Facebook page on Sunday.

“Your role and contributions to the cartoon and comic world were huge. The country’s cartoonists are sad over this loss,” the post read.

> Cobbler Abd Aziz Abdullah from Kuala Krai, Kelantan, has been travelling 70km from his house to the city to repair his customers’ shoes for the past 42 years.

Abd Aziz, 63, who starts his day at 9am and finishes at 3.30pm, has never complained about his work as he was able to raise eight children, who now have their own families, Harian Metro reported.

Despite his age, Abd Aziz still wants to continue working as he does not want to burden his children.“In a month, I can repair about 100 pairs of shoes and slippers. I charge between RM1 and RM60 depending on the damage.

“As a cobbler, I am satisfied when the repaired shoes are returned to customers in good condition,” said the grandfather of nine grandchildren.

Abd Aziz learnt how to mend shoes from a shoe repair shop in Machang in the 1980s.

He said it is not easy to be a cobbler as it requires perseverance.

“I aspire to have my own shop one day,” he said.

> Dangdut singer Ifa Raziah has apologised for her “gelek” dance during an Aqiqah ceremony recently, which came under criticism for being inappropriate by several preachers, Berita Harian reported.

Ifa, whose real name is Saripah Raziah Mustapha, 47, expressed her remorse during the reality show Terpaling Juara on TV3 on Sunday.

The Ser Ser Ser singer also forgave all those who criticised her during the controversy.

“From the bottom of my heart, I apologise. As humans, we are not perfect. There is no harm in saying sorry because it is the right thing to do. If we apologise to each other, it will bring more benefits.”

Ifa wanted to say she was sorry on stage, but she didn’t get the chance, so she did it during the interview.

She also hoped that the issue would not be prolonged.

“What is important is my gratitude for being able to perform Sangkar Cinta, which was originally sung by Ziana Zain on the show.”
