Selangor AKM tour kicks off Aug 19

SHAH ALAM: The three-day Keluarga Malaysia Aspirations (AKM) Tour kicked off in Selangor on Friday (Aug 19).

Taking place at the compound of the Shah Alam Stadium here from 9am to 9pm, the AKM Tour will be launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob at 3pm.

Organised by the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry, the eighth edition of the AKM Tour with the theme 'Malaysian Family Entrepreneurs Driving the National Economy' provides about 100 booths for small and medium industry entrepreneurs.

A total of 109 activities have been planned throughout the programme at the main stage, mini stages, exhibition booths and mobile counters as well as outdoor events held in various places around Selangor.

Among the activities are lucky draw, Hotdog 1901 eating contest; cake decorating contest; colouring event with Omar and Hana; e-Sports; people’s sports and patriotic song singing competition.

Apart from that, the AKM Tour also features Jamin Kerja Keluarga Malaysia Career Carnival and Jualan Murah Keluarga Malaysia while the Royal Malaysia Police is offering discounts of up to 50 per cent for traffic summonses at its counters.

The ministry has also readied as many as 40 food trucks to serve various types of dishes from 4pm to 7pm today.

Recently, Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar said Ismail Sabri was also scheduled to launch five basic necessities under the COOP brand, namely sugar, cooking oil, flour, rice and frozen chicken, which will be sold at much cheaper prices. - Bernama
