KUANTAN: Pengurusan Air Pahang Berhad (Paip) assures residents in Kuantan that water supply is on its way after they have endured disruptions over the past two days.
PAIP chief executive officer Saiful Zaini Mohd Bokhari said repair works on the air valve and line pump at the Kobat pump house were finally completed at 5.30am on Thursday (Aug 11).
"Until 10am, restoration of water supply in affected areas has reached 50%. For places that are elevated and far from the plant, it will take time as the water supply is restored in stages.
"It is expected to be restored fully within 24 to 48 hours from the completion of the repair works.
“However, Paip will continue to mobilise water tankers to the affected areas," he said in a statement.
Saiful Zaini urged users who have received their water supply to be mindful of their usage so as to ensure the restoration in still affected areas proceeded smoothly.
Areas that were still affected were the entire Beserah area until the Chendor border including the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park, Maritim, Bandar Damansara, Taman Dato' Rashid, Kampung Darat Sekolah, Jeram, Sungai Karang Maju, Aspa Cottage, Jabor, Sungai Karang, Chengal Lempong, Balok, Seberang Balok, Sungai Ular, Pelabuhan, Cherating, Kubang Ikan, Kampung Alor Batu and Batu Hitam.
