Covid-19: New cases rise above 4,000 on July 30


PETALING JAYA: The number of new Covid-19 cases rose to 4,271 cases on Saturday (July 30) bringing the cumulative number of cases to 4,677,270.

The Health Ministry's CovidNow portal reported that 4,268 were local cases and three were imported.

There were also 5,553 recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 4,594,296.

There are 47,014 active cases with 96.8% in home quarantine and 19 others being treated at quarantine centres.

A total of 1,446 or 3.1% are receiving treatment at hospitals, with 62 receiving treatment in intensive care units nationwide, 34 of whom require ventilator support. ICU utilisation nationwide is at 64.2%.

There were four fatalities reported, bringing the Covid-19 death toll to 35,960.
