KUALA LUMPUR: With the global rise in technology-fuelled growth, renowned property developer NCT Group of Companies continues to drive the evolution of the next generation workplace through more Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) initiatives.
In this regard, the NCT Group has inked its latest memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Open University Malaysia (OUM), following earlier MOUs with Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) and VTAR Institute (VTAR).
The MoUs with tertiary institutions are set to play a role in shaping the local workforce in tandem with the changing workplace landscape where IR4.0 will see the utilisation of smart technology and enhanced efficiency to enable greater productivity and higher income levels.
By unlocking opportunities to hone skillsets and capabilities, these initiatives will ensure that graduates are better prepared for the IR4.0 workplace.
Datuk Seri Yap Ngan Choy, founder and group managing director of the NCT Group of Companies, said that IR4.0 will be a core contributor to the country’s digital economy.
“Our continued investment in IR4.0-based initiatives via collaborations with tertiary facilities will allow us to share relevant industry experience with young graduates by providing real-life understanding of industry experience and expectations.

The signing ceremony took place between Ngan Choy and Muhammad Afiq Redzuan, group CEO of Multimedia Technology Enhancement Operations Sdn Bhd (METEOR), which is OUM’s holding company. It was witnessed by Datuk Yap Fook Choy, who is executive director of NCT Group and Muhammad Nurhadi Zainol, group chief commercial officer of METEOR.

"The time has come to start preparing students for IR4.0 so that they can acquire more defined skills and meet the new demands and challenges of the ever-changing workplace.

It is characterised by new technology that integrates the physical, digital, and biological worlds, which will have an impact on all disciplines, industries, and the economy.
