State leaders extend Aidiladha wishes

KUALA LUMPUR: State leaders took the opportunity to extend their Aidiladha wishes to Muslims in the country who will be observing the festival on Sunday (July 10).

In MELAKA, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali in his Aidiladha message said the story and history of the great sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim and his son Prophet Ismail was a lesson that should always be embraced by all Muslims in facing the challenges of daily life.

"I am confident that appreciating the story of the sacrifices of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail will bring about a sense of reverence and obedience in carrying out Allah’s command," he said in a video posted on his official Facebook page.

In PAHANG, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, in a statement posted on his Facebook page, called on Muslims to do charity and liven up the Aidiladha eve with worship besides also praying for the well-being of the pilgrims in Makkah.

In TERENGGANU, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar described those selected as duyufurrahman (guests of Allah) as very lucky because they were blessed with the opportunity to implement the fifth pillar of Islam.

"I humbly ask (pilgrims) to also include prayers for the well-being of our country," he said in his Aidiladha message in Kuantan on Saturday (July 9).

In SELANGOR, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari via a tweet on his official Twitter account, @AmirudinShari, wished a happy Aidiladha to all Muslims.

"This year's Aidiladha is very meaningful with pilgrims allowed to perform the Haj and sacrifices which is quite lively. Hopefully, we take lessons from the story of the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail,” he said.

In NEGRI SEMBILAN, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun prayed for the safety of the people who returned to their hometowns to celebrate Aidiladha.

"Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha to all Muslims throughout Negeri Sembilan. This year's Aidiladha celebration is definitely more lively than the previous year, especially since the Covid-19 pandemic hit," he said in a post on his Facebook page on Saturday. - Bernama
