KUALA LUMPUR: Muslims across the country celebrated Aidiladha with gratitude and devotion as thousands of worshippers, including national leaders, filled mosques nationwide to recite the takbir and perform the Aidiladha prayers together.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail joined more than 10,000 congregants for Aidiladha prayers at Masjid Putra in Putrajaya yesterday, where they also listened to a sermon delivered by the Grand Imam Dr Muhammad Zakuwa Rodzali, reported Bernama.
In SELANGOR, Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah joined more than 15,000 worshippers for Aidiladha prayers at Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah in Shah Alam.
Also present were Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin and Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari and state secretary Datuk Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin were also in attendance.
Meanwhile, 28 cattle, including one contributed by the Selangor Ruler, were sacrificed during “ibadah qurban” held at the mosque compound.
In KELANTAN, Crown Prince Tengku Muhammad Fakhry Petra joined thousands of worshippers for Aidiladha prayers at Masjid Jamek Al-Ismaili in Bandar Baru Pasir Pekan, Tumpat, alongside Mentri Besar Datuk Mohd Nassuruddin Daud and the state leadership.
In KEDAH, Sultan of Kedah Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah performed the Aidiladha prayers at Masjid Zahir in Alor Setar together with more than 2,000 congregants, including Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor and state secretary Datuk Seri Norizan Khazali.
Meanwhile, in PERLIS, Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail joined more than 1,200 congregants for Aidiladha prayers at the Dataran Istiadat Istana Arau in Arau led by state Grand Imam Amnan Muthqa Azanol.
The Aidiladha sermon was delivered by Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor, chief executive officer of the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council.
Also in attendance were Raja Puan Muda Perlis Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil and their daughters Hajah Sharifah Khatreena Nuraniah Jamalullail and Hajah Sharifah Farah Adriana Jamalullail.

In NEGRI SEMBILAN, Yang di-Pertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir and Tunku Ampuan Besar Tuanku Aishah Rohani Tengku Besar Mahmud arrived at the Dewan Awam Tuanku Najihah in Kuala Pilah at 8.30am, accompanied by Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun, to perform the Aidiladha prayers with about 1,500 congregants.
In PAHANG, Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah joined more than 1,000 worshippers for Aidiladha prayers at Masjid Tengku Ampuan Afzan in Indera Mahkota.
The royal couple were accompanied by their children, including Regent of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah.
In PERAK, the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, performed the Aidiladha prayers at Masjid Sultan Idris Shah II in Ipoh together with over 1,000 congregants.
Also in attendance were Raja Muda of Perak Raja Jaafar and Raja Di-Hilir Perak Raja Iskandar Dzulkarnain.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad was also present.
In JOHOR, the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, attended the Aidiladha prayers at Masjid Negeri Sultan Abu Bakar in Johor Baru alongside more than 1,000 congregants.
His two sons, Raja Muda of Johor Tunku Iskandar Tunku Ismail and Tunku Abu Bakar Ibrahim Tunku Ismail, as well as Tunku Panglima of Johor Tunku Abdul Rahman Sultan Ibrahim and Tunku Putera of Johor Tunku Abu Bakar Sultan Ibrahim, were also in attendance.
Also present was Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi.
In TERENGGANU, the Regent of Terengganu, Tengku Muhammad Ismail Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin, performed Aidiladha prayers at Masjid Al-Muktafi Billah Shah in Kuala Terengganu.
He was accompanied by Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and several other state leaders.
In PENANG, Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Ramli Ngah Talib and his wife Toh Puan Raja Noora Ashikin Raja Abdullah performed the Aidiladha prayers with more than 5,000 Muslims at Masjid Abdullah Fahim in Bertam, Kepala Batas.
In MELAKA, state senior executive councillor for housing, local government, climate change and disaster management Datuk Rais Yasin and 3rd Division commander Mej-Jen Sani S. Omar joined more than 2,000 congregants comprising military personnel and civilians for Aidiladha prayers at Masjid As-Syuhada Kem Terendak in Sungai Udang.
In SARAWAK, Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg, together with Deputy Premier Datuk Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and state legislative assembly Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, joined more than 5,000 worshippers in performing the Aidiladha prayers at Masjid Jamek Negeri Sarawak in Petra Jaya.
In SABAH, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor performed Aidiladha prayers with more than 1,000 congregants at Masjid Haji Noor in Kampung Serusup, Tuaran, before carrying out “ibadah qurban”, with the meat distributed to personnel of the Tuaran district police headquarters and asnaf groups in the district.
