Man, son killed in blaze at home in Melaka


ALOR GAJAH: A father and his son were killed in a blaze at their home in Jalan Cherana Puteh here.

Fire and Rescue Department spokesman identified the victims as Allahudin Abdul Hamid, 51, and his five-year-old son Muhamad Badrol Allahudin, 5, who were found lifeless in a room inside their house.

The spokesman said firefighters received a distress call at about 1.56am on Friday (July 8) and rushed to the scene in just a few minutes.

He said the fire was raging when the firefighters arrived at the scene and found the two victims inside the room after managing to douse the blaze.

The spokesman said 70% of the house was ravaged in the fire.

"We have informed the police on the discovery of the two victims in the fire," he said.

The spokesmen added the cause of the fire is being investigated.
