Man kills girlfriend in a misunderstanding in Klang

KLANG: A romance between a female student and an unemployed man ended in tragedy after he smothered his lover with a pillow at Kampung Idaman, Pandamaran here.

Police said the man had brought the 16-year-old girl to his house at around 2am on Sunday (June 26).

South Klang OCPD Asst Comm Cha Hoong Fong said the incident came to light when the 24-year-old man knocked on his parents' bedroom door after carrying the girl out of his room and placing her in the house yard.

"None of the family members heard any noise or commotion during the incident.

"The shocked family members immediately contacted the police," he told reporters on Monday (June 27).

ACP Cha said medical officers who rushed to scene confirmed the death of the victim.

He said the deceased lived in Puchong with her uncle after their parents divorced.

"The man and the girl had been in love for a year and were known to each other's families. He had also brought the girl to his house several times before.

"Based on the initial investigation, there was a misunderstanding between them in the bedroom,” he said.

ACP Cha added that initial examination on the deceased’s body found some scratches and bruises on her face and neck.

"The autopsy carried out found that the cause of death was suffocation as a result of being smothered.

"The man, who was arrested at the scene, is now under remand until July 3," he said.
