Orphaned siblings receive Socso benefit

MELAKA: Six siblings who lost their disabled parents in an accident allegedly involving a drunk driver on June 6, received benefits from the Social Security Organisation (Socso) to lighten their burden.

Melaka unity, community relationship, human resource and consumer’s affairs committee chairman Ngwe Hee Sem said the siblings will be eligible for the RM2,876.14 monthly Survivors’ Pension (Pencen Penakat) as well as a one-off funeral benefit of RM4,000.
