NKVE fatal crash: Victim's family shocked by his death


SHAH ALAM: The family of P. Puvaaneshwaran is still coming to terms with the circumstances of his death after he drove against traffic on the New Klang Valley Expressway, causing a fatal crash which also killed three others.

His uncle, who only wanted to be known as Nadarajan, 55, said they were notified about his death at around 10am on Saturday (June 11).

"We immediately rushed to the Shah Alam Hospital. We are all still in shock," he said when met at the hospital mortuary.

He said Puvaaneshwaran had just started working at MidValley and lived in Kuchai Lama.

"I really do not know what he was doing so far away from home.

"The police inspector told us that they have CCTV footage of him driving in the opposite direction," he said, and described his 28-year-old nephew as responsible and well-mannered.

Three other victims who died in the head-on collision have been identified as Lai Mun Fai, 28, Eng Siew Hooi, 31, and Leong Man Yuen, 27.

Meanwhile, Puvaaneshwaran's cousin, Dhashen, 26, said he was a straight As student and never got into trouble.

"He had received awards for doing well in his exams. It's hard to come to terms with his death," he said.
