Six houses in Semporna's Kg Bubul destroyed in fire

KOTA KINABALU: Six houses in Kampung Bubul in the Semporna district have been razed by fire early Wednesday (May 25).

No casualties were reported but at least six families were made homeless, the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department said in a statement.

According to the department, a distress call was received at 12.57am alerting it to the incident.

"The Semporna team managed to get the fire under control at 1.34am, but the wooden structures were completely destroyed.

"The operation ended at 3.18am after all risks were eliminated.

"An investigation is being conducted to identify the cause of the fire and to assess the damages," the statement read.
