New harbour being proposed in Labuan’s Rancha-Rancha industrial area

PETALING JAYA: A new boat harbour is being proposed in the Rancha-Rancha industrial area in Labuan, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

He said a meeting was held with the Labuan Port Authority and that he had visited the project site.

“Dermaga Merdeka port can no longer cope with our future needs. Thus, the LPA has proposed the construction of the Rancha Rancha harbour via a ‘request for proposal’ (RFP),” he said on his Facebook page on Friday (May 20).

Also at the meeting was LPA chairman Datuk P. Kamalanathan.
