Negri Islamic Religious Council contributes RM1.84mil to Kafa teachers, Al-Quran Tahfiz Institute


SEREMBAN: The Negri Sembilan Islamic Religious Council (MAINS) handed over Hari Raya Aidilfitri contributions totalling RM1.84mil to teachers of Quran and Fardu Ain (Kafa) and the Negri Sembilan Al-Quran Tahfiz Institute (PINTA).

Its chairman Datuk Dr. Abdul Aziz Sheikh Ab. Kadir said the special financial assistance was also given to community rehabilitation centres and orphanages under the state Social Welfare Department.

He said the Kafa teachers received RM500 each, involving a total allocation of RM824,000; PINTA (RM710,000), while the aid for the centres and orphanages involved RM305,000.

"For the first quarter, from January to March, MAINS was able to collect RM29.5mil in tithe,” he said at an Iftar programme organised by MAINS and was also attended by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun on Friday (April 22).

He said MAINS was also allocated RM7.31mil for the asnaf (zakat-recipients), orphans and various institutions, in monthly aid, food, additional festive aid and the distribution of food for the breaking of fast for frontline workers. - Bernama
