Complaint lodged against Shafee for allegedly receiving cheques amounting to RM9.5mil in September 2018, court told


KUALA LUMPUR: A complaint was lodged on Sept 4, 2018, against lawyer Tan Sri Muhammad Shafee Abdullah on suspicion of receiving two cheques, amounting to RM9.5mil from Datuk Seri Najib Razak, an investigating officer from the Malaysian Anti -Corruption Commission (MACC) told the High Court here.

Mohamad Farid Jabar, 37, said following the report, the lawyer was investigated under the MACC Act 2009, the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Act 2001 (AMLATFA) and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds from Illegal Activities Act 2001 (AMLATFPUAA).
