Johor polls: Barisan Nasional officially wins simple majority


PETALING JAYA: The Election Commission says Barisan Nasional has won enough seats to form a simple majority in the Johor election.

As at 11.25pm Saturday (March 12), Barisan Nasional had officially secured 33 of the 56 seats, giving it a simple majority.

As at 11.25pm the Election Commission announced that Barisan had won in Yong Peng, Johor Lama, Kukup, Benut, Bukit Naning, Gambir, Tenang, Kahang, Sri Medan, Bukit Permai, Bekok, Paloh and Bukit Pasir.

It also secured a win in Rengit, Pulai Sebatang, Pasir Raja, Layang-Layang, Sedili, Serom, Penawar, Pemanis, Sungai Balang, Pekan Nanas, Tenggaroh and Larkin.

The Serom, Parit Yaani, Tanjung Surat, Machap, Kemelah, Panti, Semerah and Semarang seats have also been won by Barisan.

Pakatan Harapan has so far won in Bentayan, Bukit Batu, Skudai, Perling and Jementah while Perikatan Nasional has won the Endau, Maharani and Bukit Kepong seats.
