Johor polls: PKR officially wins first seat, successfully defending Bukit Batu (N51)

PETALING JAYA: PKR defends its Bukit Batu (N51) seat, with candidate Arthur Chiong Sen Sern securing a slim 137 majority in a four-cornered fight, says the Election Commission.

Chiong garnered 9,439 votes for Pakatan Harapan, followed by Barisan Nasional’s S. Suppayah with 9,302 votes, and Perikatan Nasional’s Tan Heng Choon with 3,989 votes.

Parti Warisan’s Lee Ming Wen only garnered 1,349 votes and has lost his deposit.

This is PKR’s first official win so far. Fellow Pakatan component DAP, meanwhile, officially won the Bentayan seat.

In 2018, PKR’s majority was 10,057 in a three-cornered fight with Barisan and PAS.
