Johor polls: BN's Ling Tian Soon takes Yong Peng, according to unofficial results

JOHOR BARU: Barisan Nasional's Ling Tian Soon has taken the Yong Peng (N19) seat, according to unofficial results.

Ling garnered 8,800 votes compared to Pakatan’s Alan Tee (6,564) and Perikatan's Susan Wong (1,471). Yong Peng has 33,053 eligible voters.

The crowd at the Yong Peng MCA operations centre were ecstatic as the result was announced.

A voter was heard saying, ‘‘It feels like watching the stock market.’’

Ling arrived at the MCA operations room with his wife at 7.05pm. He was heard saying that Barisan did well in two polling streams in Lam Lee, where they were not as successful in the 15th General Election.
