Cops probing incident of woman who allegedly slapped housemate in kitchen

PETALING JAYA: Police are investigating the matter of a woman allegedly slapping her housemate after a video of the incident went viral.

The video shows a woman confronting another person preparing food in a kitchen.

They exchange words before she slaps the person who was cooking.

Petaling Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said the video was circulated on Wednesday (March 9).

"The video was allegedly uploaded by a social media user who wanted to explain the incident.

"We received a report at around 6.50am (that day) by a woman in her 30s," he said in a statement on Friday (March 11).

He said the woman alleged that she was beaten while she was cooking at 5am.

"The alleged attacker is also in her 30s.

"The (suspect) was said to be furious as her housemate was making noise while she was sleeping," he said, adding that the case was classified as voluntarily causing hurt.

He said police have already called the suspect to have her statement recorded.
