Forest land being sold online not gazetted as permanent reserve, says Selangor Forestry Dept

PETALING JAYA: The Selangor Forestry Department has defend the online sale of forest land in the state after a group of environmentalists called for the halt the commercial sale of forest land in the peninsula.

The department director Datuk Ahmad Fadzil Abdul Majid said the location identified in Selangor by Rimba Disclosure Project (RDP) was not of permanent reserve status as gazetted under the Selangor National Forestry Act (Adoption) Enactment 1985, so it was allowed to be put up for sale.
