Illuminati conspiracy theory riles up artiste

SINGER and actor Naim Daniel (pic), 25, has lodged a police report after he was linked to the Illuminati by conspiracy theorists on social media, all stemming from bruises he had suffered in a skateboarding incident, Berita Harian reported.

An Instagram post claimed that the bruises on Naim’s face were akin to selling his soul to the devil through a “soul scalping” ritual, while the injury to his right hand was related to “hidden hands”.

Naim, whose real name is Muhammad Naim Daniel Baharin, said he would not hesitate to take legal action should the allegations continue.

“I lodged a police report at the Subang police station last week,” he said.

“Such statements and accusations on social media against me are very embarrassing.”

He explained that he had suffered injuries from a skateboarding accident in Section 13, Shah Alam.

> Kosmo! reported local actor and producer Datuk Afdlin Shauki as advising celebrities who hoped to venture into politics to have the right intention and not do it for power alone.

He said he supported any celebrity who wanted to enter the political arena, regardless of party, as long as their intentions were to serve the rakyat.

“We must have the intention to solve other people’s problems and my hope is that they become the voice for artistes in politics because artistes have a better understanding of what is happening,” he said.

Commenting on the success of former actress Datuk Khaidhirah Abu Zahar, better known as Dira Abu Zahar, who recently won the Rim seat in the Melaka state election, Afdlin said it was good to encourage more celebrities to enter the political stage.

“She has proven that women too can have high positions and at the same time take care of institutions in our country, and that is a very good thing,” he said.

Afdlin, who is in PKR, said he could not yet comment on talk that he would be chosen for a “higher position”.

“However, I do not rule it out if there is such a proposal in the future. But if there is a better candidate, I will support that person as long as it involves the struggle for the people,” he added.

There is talk that Afdlin, best known for his work in Papadom and Buli, is expected to be chosen to contest in the coming Johor election.
