Female hiker found after being missing for almost 24 hours


GEORGE TOWN: The female hiker who was reported missing since Saturday (Jan 8) evening has been found on Sunday (Jan 9).

She was found after almost 24 hours since being reported missing while hiking in Tanjung Bungah.

She was believed to have started her hike from the Botanical Garden at 4.30pm but lost her way around the hills in Tanjung Bungah near Surin Condominium around 6pm.

The Fire and Rescue Department along with the voluntary firemen squads of Mount Erskine, Penang Hill and Paya Terubong had since conducted searches from Saturday while the Civil Defence Force joined the search on Sunday.
