IPOH: All six hikers, including two children, who were reportedly lost during a hiking expedition that started in Lojing, Kelantan, have been rescued.
Gerik OCPD Supt Abdul Samad Othman said the hikers were found at Kem Kulim by mountain guides.
"They have been brought to Kampung Lelar at about 8.45pm.
"All six are now being treated at the Pos Kemar health clinic," he said in a statement on Monday (Sept 7).
"They are safe and are not injured," he added.
Supt Abdul Samad had earlier said that they made contact with one of the hikers, who reported about their safety and were at Gunung Bongkok.
The group of hikers, which included two children, went missing after entering the Gunung Trans Gerak area in Lojing on Aug 29.
The group included Shafiee Sidek, 49; Hazman Mamat, 43; Wan Ahmad Aslam Wan Zairudin, 39; Siti Zulaiha Norizan, 39; Diya Raisha Wan Ahmad Aslam, 13; and Ahmad Raef Wan Ahmad Aslam, nine.
The group's last known location is said to be in the forested area in Perak before contact was lost.
