IPOH: A labourer was sentenced to six years in prison and two strokes of the cane by the Sessions Court here on Friday (Dec 31) for committing sexual assault on a four-year-old girl, last Saturday (Dec 25).
Judge Norita Mohd Ardani meted out the punishment on a 38-year-old man after he pleaded guilty to committing the offence and ordered him to serve the jail sentence from Friday. He was also ordered to be placed under police surveillance for two years after serving the jail sentence.
