PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda) has been registered as a political party, says the party’s co-founder Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
In a Twitter post on Wednesday (Dec 29), he said: "Muda’s birthday is on Dec 23. Apologies for not informing earlier as we wanted to focus on the floods.
“Join us now, Everyone can be a member – old, young, Muslim and non-Muslim. Muda is a party for all and a party for the future.”
On Dec 14, the High Court ruled that the Home Minister must register Muda as a political party in the next 14 days.
Justice Noorin Badaruddin made the order after allowing a judicial review application by the Muar MP and 12 other individuals who challenged the decision by the Home Minister and the Registrar of Societies (ROS) that rejected their appeal to register Muda as a political party.
