PETALING JAYA: Muslims are allowed to eat vegetarian food prepared by the Sikh community for flood victims, says former religious affair minister Datuk Seri Dr Zulkilfi Mohamad Al-Bakri.
“According to Islam, eating food from non-Muslims who are not People of the Book is permissible as long as it does not involve their slaughtered animals,” he said in a series of tweets on Wednesday after Internet users questioned the halal status of vegetarian food offered by the Sikh community for flood victims.
