Over 270 flood victims moved to relief centres in Negri Sembilan

SEREMBAN: A total of 274 victims have been moved to five temporary shelters after continuous rain caused flash floods in 29 areas of Negri Sembilan.

State Fire and Rescue Services Department assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said 112 victims were moved to the Kg Paya community hall in Lukut after their houses were flooded following continuous rain since 10pm on Friday (Dec 17) night.

"Eighty-seven victims are now putting up at a surau in Siliau Hilir, 42 at another surau in Keru Hilir and 29 at the Kg Permatang Pasir community Hall in Teluk Kemang," he said on Saturday (Dec 18).

Ahmad Mukhlis said residents in only 12 of the 29 affected areas had to be moved to the temporary shelters.
