Heavy rain in Klang Valley to continue on Saturday (Dec 18), warns MetMalaysia


PETALING JAYA: Extremely heavy rain is expected to continue in the Klang Valley on Saturday (Dec 18), says the Meteorological Department.

“Extreme continuous rain is expected at Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat and Hulu Langat as well as Kuala Lumpur,” said the department in a nationwide weather warning notice at 2pm on Saturday (Dec 18).

“Continuous downpours are also expected at Hilir Perak and Muallim in Perak, Gua Musang in Kelantan, Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Jerantut, Bentong, Maran and Kuantan in Pahang.

“The same is expected at Sepang, Putrajaya and Jelebu in Negri Sembilan,” the statement said.

The department added that continuous rain is also expected at Kuala Muda, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu, Kedah; Penang; Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk and Batang Padang in Perak.

“Continuous rains are also expected at Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Baru, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh and Kuala Krai, Kelantan; Terengganu; Raub, Temerloh, Bera, Pekan, and Rompin in Pahang; Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, Jempol, and Tampin in Negri Sembilan as well as Alor Gajah, Melaka,” the department said.
