PETALING JAYA: A video depicting two women impersonating persons with disabilities entering a restroom designated for the disabled has gone viral on social media.
In the nine-second long TikTok video posted by Joker896, two young women in full cycling attire had a laugh impersonating disabled people entering the toilet.
The footage, which had over 355,200 views, sparked an uproar with many people upset over the unthoughtful behaviour.
One person with disabilities criticised the two women in the video.
“I’m also an individual with disabilities but I don't wish to expose myself as one. But these people are mocking our flaws,” said the person.
“May your acting come true,” said another social media user.
“Great acting skills. May you really become like this after this,” another commented.
Meanwhile, in another video that was shared on Twitter recently, a man was seen acting in a similar mocking manner after parking his vehicle in a spot reserved for disabled people at a shopping centre.
In the 38-second video, the man was seen with his friend at the parking area of a shopping mall.
He was allegedly saying that his friend has told him that he has to act like a disabled person to get the reserved parking spot.
“So my friend said there’s a way to get parking, and eventually I was able to secure a parking spot following his suggestion, although it's a little strange.
“The plan was to park in a designated spot for the disabled and act like a disabled person in order to get easy parking,” he said in the video.
