YONG PENG: MCA members must work hard to provide the best service to the community and not just to garner support, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.

The MCA president also said MCA, as a Barisan Nasional component party, must always work for the people under the Malaysian Family concept.

Earlier, Dr Wee, who is also Transport Minister, chaired the Johor MCA’s 43rd annual general meeting in Yong Peng, Johor which was held virtually and in person.

“In my speech to launch the event, I stressed that every party member should intensify their hard work, not only to garner support but also to provide the best service to our society,” he said.

He added that the party needed to keep its momentum after enjoying several victories by Barisan in a number of by-elections since the 14th general election in 2018.

“This also includes our recent big victory in the Melaka state election on Nov 20,” Dr Wee, who is also Johor MCA chairman, said.
