‘Register at only one private PPV for booster’

KUALA LUMPUR: Individuals eligible for the Covid-19 booster shots are advised to register on the waiting list at only one private health facility vaccination centre (PPV) to avoid confusion.

ProtectHealth Corporation Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ProtectHealth Malaysia set up under the Health Ministry, said registration for the waiting list at the PPV of private health facilities under ProtectHealth was free and that only the Corminaty vaccine (Pfizer-BioNTech) will be dispensed at these centres.

“Apart from walk-in recipients, registration of names on the waiting list at these PPV can also be done by phone or email – according to the PPV list which is available on the ProtectHealth website (www.protecthealth.com.my) – starting Nov 22.

The PPV list will be updated from time to time.

“This approach will encourage eligible individuals to take the booster shots earlier without having to wait long, apart from helping the government ensure the vaccines are not wasted and can be used optimally,” ProtectHealth said in a statement yesterday.

According to Bernama, individuals who had successfully registered will be put on a waiting list and contacted by the facility concerned if there are cancellations or no shows by those given appointments for the vaccination through the MySejahtera app.

The registration for the waiting list is for individuals who have not received appointments but are eligible for their booster shots, including frontline staff, individuals aged 40 and above and those aged 18 and above with comorbidities who need to travel abroad.

Besides that, those who have not received the first or second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, including adolescents aged 12 to 17, as well as those who missed their appointments, are also eligible to sign up.
