Kedah MB heads award list in conjunction with Sultan's birthday

ALOR SETAR: Kedah Mentri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor (pic) leads the list of 63 dignitaries and recipients to be conferred titles and awards in conjunction with the Sultan of Kedah, Al Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah's 79th birthday.

Kedah state secretary Datuk Paduka Ammar Shaikh Makmood Naim said Sanusi was bestowed with the Darjah Seri Setia Diraja Kedah Yang Amat Dihormati (SPMK) which carries the Datuk Seri title.

"The investiture ceremony will be held at a later date in 2022 and title can be used effective from today (Nov 1)," he said in a statement Monday.

Weststar Holdings Sdn Bhd managing director Tan Sri Syed Azman Syed Ibrahim was conferred with the Darjah Seri Setia Diraja Kedah Yang Amat Dihormati (SSDK) which carries the title of Datuk Seri.

Treasury secretary-general Datuk Asri Hamidin was awarded with the Darjah Gemilang Seri Mahkota Kedah Yang Amat Dihormati (DGMK).

The Darjah Dato' Setia Pahlawan Negeri Kedah Yang Amat Dihormati (DSPK) awards which carry the title Datuk Pahlawan was conferred to Army deputy chief Lt Gen Datuk Mohammad Abd Rahman and Royal Malaysian Navy's Region 2 admiral, Rear Admiral Rusli Ahmad.

State Legislative Assembly Speaker Juhari Bulat, state Women, Family and Community Development Committee chairman Halimaton Saadiah Saad and Kedah Land and Mines director Mohd Fauzi Mustaffa were awarded the Darjah Dato' Setia Sultan Sallehuddin Kedah (DSSS) award which carries the title Datuk.

Other notable recipients were PAS state commissioner Senator Ahmad Yahya, former state health director Dr Mohd Fikri Ujang, state MACC director Dato Shaharom Nizam Abd Manap and UUM lecturer Professor Mua'ti @ Zamri Ahmad among the 15 recipients of Darjah Dato' Setia Diraja Kedah (DSDK) title which carries the title Datuk.

Three recipients were bestowed by Sultan Sallehuddin with the Darjah Dato' Setia Pahlawan (DDSP) award which carries the title Datuk.

A total of 37 recipients were awarded with Setia Mahkota Kedah, Setia Diraja Kedah and Jaksa Pendamai.
