KUALA LUMPUR: The budget allocation for all types of schools has increased in Budget 2022, says Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The MCA president said the latest national budget has seen more funds being pumped towards the different types of schools in Malaysia.
“Thank you to Tengku Zafrul (Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz) who increased the amount for all schools,” he told the media after the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Student Centre at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) Kuala Lumpur Main Campus on Saturday
(Oct 30).
Dr Wee, who is also the Transport Minister, said the Finance Ministry has also given more funds to Chinese and Tamil vernacular schools.
“This is a good sign that the government gives emphasis to all schools,” he added.
On Friday (Oct 29), Tengku Zafrul also announced that RM120mil has been allocated for 1,800 Chinese and Tamil vernacular schools in the country.
All Chinese and Tamil vernacular schools were allocated about RM104mil for maintenance and upgrades in Budget 2021.
