Proposed cable car project to link Tapah and Ringlet in Cameron Highlands

IPOH: A cable car project connecting Tapah in Perak to Ringlet in Cameron Highlands, Pahang is in the pipeline.

When contacted, Perak tourism and local authorities committee chairman Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohamed Radzi said the proposed project was under a district local planning draft.

"If the project kicks off, it will definitely be a great tourism product, as well as providing a new alternative route from Tapah to Ringlet.

"There has not been any discussion yet on the matter as it is only a draft proposal. We will need to wait for the draft plan approval before proceeding," she said on Friday (Oct 29).

Earlier, a tweet from a user named @viralperak said the project was proposed under the Batang Padang District Council’s 2035 Local Planning Draft.

It is believed that the cable car route would have four stations namely Lata Kinjang, Kuala Woh, Lata Iskandar and Ringlet.

Each station would have kiosks selling snacks and tickets with amenities, surau, car parks, toilets and potential sites for hotels.

Under the draft the proposed project is expected to be completed by 2035.
