The lead at last after decades in showbiz

A VETERAN actor who has appeared in more than 100 films in supporting roles will play the hero for the first time in his latest film, Makkal Osai reported.

It is a case of better late than never for Indian actor PV Nambirajan, 83.

Directed by Udumalai S. Ajmer, the film titled Asthivaram will make history for having the oldest lead actor.

Many leading actors such as Rajnikanth and Kamal Haasan had put on make-up and prosthetics to appear as older characters but this will be the first time a much older actor is being given such a role, the director said.

Headmistress S. Kalyani said the school had won first place in the district- and state-level evaluations before receiving the national-level award. She attributed the victory to the cooperation from teachers, parents and pupils.
