Anti-fake news portal records 260% increase in number of visits during pandemic

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): The number of visits to the Sebenarnya.my portal has increased drastically since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country in January last year with 198.31 million visits or an average of 9.4 million hits per month, compared to 63.7 million visits or an average of 2.65 million hits per month before the pandemic, the Dewan Negara was told Thursday (Oct 21).

Deputy Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Zahidi Zainul Abidin attributed the 260% increase to public awareness in checking the validity of questionable news.
