Boy dies after tree falls on him while swimming at Sg Serendah

PETALING JAYA: A 10-year-old boy died after a tree fell on him and his elder brother while they were swimming at Sungai Serendah.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis said they received a distress call at 2.39pm on Sunday (Sept 26).

"The incident occurred near the Serendah Brickhouse.

"We received information that a 10-year-old boy and his 11-year-old brother were swimming in the river near there when a tree fell on them.

"When we arrived at the scene, the two boys had already been rushed to a private hospital in Rawang," he said when contacted.

He said further checks revealed the younger boy passed away.

"The 11-year-old escaped with minor injuries," he said.
