KUALA LUMPUR: Several roads in Hulu Selangor will be closed in stages from 11am on Thursday (Oct 1) to make way for Stage 5 of the Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL) 2026 cycling race.
Hulu Selangor police chief Supt M Manimaran said the road closures would involve routes from KM79 of Jalan Kuala Lumpur-Ipoh at the Muallim district border, Ulu Bernam-Kalumpang-Kerling-Kuala Kubu Baru-Pekan Batang Kali to the Gohtong Jaya Roundabout.
"As such, road users are advised to use alternative routes, namely Serendah-Sungai Choh-Bukit Beruntung-Bukit Beruntung Toll-North-South Expressway-Tanjung Malim Toll; Batang Kali-Hulu Yam Bharu-Pekan Hulu Yam-Hulu Yam Lama-Serendah; and Batang Kali-Hulu Yam Bharu-Sungai Tua-Middle Ring Road 2-Gombak Toll-Genting Highlands,” he said in a statement on Wednesday (Sept 30).
Manimaran said the road closures are expected to end at 1pm, depending on the movement and routes taken by the riders.
He said the road closures were to ensure the safety of the race participants and road users, facilitate the smooth running of the event and reduce the risk of traffic congestion throughout the race.
"Members of the public, particularly road users, are advised to comply with traffic directions and controls by the personnel on duty, plan their journeys in advance, use alternative routes and give their full cooperation throughout the road closures,” he added. - Bernama
