Body of unidentified man found near MMEA Batu Pahat jetty

BATU PAHAT: The body of an unidentified man has been found near the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Batu Pahat zone jetty here.

MMEA Batu Pahat director maritime commander Mohammad Othman said that the victim's body was spotted floating near the jetty at about 8.20pm on Wednesday (Sept 22).

"The body was found by MMEA personnel who were patrolling around the jetty.

"We then informed the nearest police station about the body and six policemen later arrived at the scene to check on the body.

"The body was then brought to Hospital Sultanah Nora for further action," he said in a statement here on Thursday (Sept 23).

He urged anyone who has any information about the body or whose family members have gone missing to contact the authorities.
